Laxman Shetty My life’s journey at Karuna Sharan began at the age of four when I was orphaned. I am now sixteen years old. It has been a wonderful road for me. I have been so blessed to have grown up in Karuna, and I am thankful to God for giving me this home. I have received the best education at the Ambassador High School, with good teachers and a loving Principal who knew how to encourage children. We were taught through the Smart Edu-Com method that made learning so much fun.

I can say that I have had a great upbringing at Karuna. It was in this home that I was taught the important values of life and was groomed to become a godly gentleman. I am deeply thankful to the authorities and the founders of Karuna Sharan, whose hearts for orphan children made it possible for a boy like to receive love under the care of godly parents. They raised me up to know that there is a living God and that He is my Father in heaven who cares for me.

Last year, 2014, I completed Grade X. I am now in College studying Arts. I want to really thank everyone at Karuna, from the bottom of my heart for not ever giving up on me! I was never once made to feel like an orphan and even today, they continue to guide me, love me and assure me that I still am part of the family. God bless our founders abundantly, as they are truly my dad and mom Thank you!! Laxman

Vijay Gowda I came to Karuna Sharan in 2008, when I was 12 years old. At the time everything was so new to me, I had trouble adjusting to my new surroundings. As time went by things changed. I began to enjoy my new friends that I made at Karuna and also enjoy my new home. My new friends became my brothers.

I had earlier studied in a Marathi medium school and I found it very difficult to adapt to an English school. I worked really hard at my studies and am happy to tell you that in 2014, I passed my 10th standard exams with excellent results. I am now in College and studying Commerce. Karuna continues to help me with my further studies and I am very grateful for that. I love football and often take part in sports programs in my college.

I would like to thank everyone at Karuna Sharan that has helped me become the person I am today. I am thankful for the love, support and prayers that have come my way, and also for all the guidance that was given to me to help me make the right choices in life. I would also like to thank my home parents, as they loved me, were patient with me and guided me all the way. My life is never going to be the same!! Above all, I thank God Almighty, for blessing me so much. I know that He will never ever leave me. Psalm 27:10 says, "when your father and mother forsake you, the Lord will take you up." Thank you Lord!! Vijay
